Lisa Pursell

Lisa is a former instructor of Musicians™ Institute (Guitar Institute of Technology) in Hollywood CA and the Atlanta Institute of Music. She has 35 years teaching experience for all levels. She has toured/played extensively opening for major record label acts, such as: George Jones, Patty Loveless, Gretchen Wilson, Montgomery Gentry, Brooks and Dunn, Billy Cox (bassist for Jimi Hendrix), Chuck Mangione and many others. Lisa also wrote the book, How to Think in the Language of Music, which is a basic foundational music theory book for all beginners, songwriters, and improvisational musicians.

Lisa teaches all levels, from finger style and classical to, contemporary and classical rock, blues, country and early jazz and all lessons are customized to the student’/s experience and interests. Lisa also coordinates shows for interested students to play in bands and perform at Mickey Roos™ in the spring of each year.
